Main character- Tim(little boy)
Tim is a brave person who is a hero in the film, because he is the only one can saving night out of the dark.
Tim (little boy) who afraid of the dark. However, one day he found the stars start disappearing from the sky, and he very confused as he want to find out the problem of the stars and try to get stars back to the sky. Then Little boy meets the cats shepherd who will help Tim (Little boy) to go on a journey throughout the night to find out the reason as why the stars were disppear in sky.He must struggle together to save the night.
character personality traits:
Tim is a little boy who is afraid of the dark, but loves the stars. Every night he drags his bed to the window so he can be watched over by his star. One night unable to sleep he climbs to the roof of the orphanage and looks out over the city and notices that the stars, including his star, are going out. In his frenzy to do something he falls off the roof, but is rescued by the Cat Shepherd. The Cat Shepherd is in charge of the cats that watch over all of the children and help put them to sleep at night. When Tim refuses to go to sleep The Cat Shepherd agrees to help Tim get to see the head of Nocturna the world of the night, who might be able to help him solve the problem of the missing stars. This in turn becomes a journey across the night world as Tim tries to find the source of the darkness.
how does the film keeps the audience engaged? What do you think the key factors are?
I think the most important things of the film to keep the audience engage is a good story and good character. If a film got very fancy story that audience will be follow the story and think about how to end of the story.
Fist of all, 'Nocturna' got very good beginning of the story as well as put very strong emotion into the character. The audience will be very curious about this story how to end and what gonna happen next . For example, when i watch this film in the beginning as really want to know about what gonna happen next . In the beginning of the ' Nocurna ' talk about Tim is a very timid little boy who afraid of the dark as that is why his friends always bully him. One day Tim play football with his friends but football was fell right into the dark hole and his friend force him to pick football back if not Tim will be in the trouble as the story start form here. So i really want to keep watch this film until finish because i was attracted by the beginning of this film.
secondly, the color in the film is important as well. For instance, The black and dark blue color is the main color in the 'Nocurna ' because story is about dark night. So the color in the story will give the audience very strong feeling as they will go with the story from start to the end.
lastly, if the film got good characters and story as well as fancy images but no background music that is not perfect as audience will be get bored from the story. So the good background music will give the story and characters alive in the film. There are some different ways to narrative story, such as, use good music to narrative story even no dialogue in it the story can be good to tell to audience as well. The 'Nocurna' use very joyful and relaxing music in the beginning to let the audience happy start and then use very sad music in the middle of the film to narrative story about Shepherd was died then use very nervous music to tell the story about Tim fight with monster as save the stars back to alive. Finally, happy music with the end of story.
So the the film keeps the audience engaged not only need good story, characters and colorful images but also good background music as the key in the story as well.

The dark blue color is main color in the film and throughout the whole film from the begin to the end. Because the story is about stars were disappeared in the dark night. So the audience will got very strong feeling from the film go with dark color.

In the beginning of the film happy start introduce the Main character (Tim) personality and he plying game with his friends then in the middle of the film Tim got some problem as he wants to figure it out. At the end of film he solve the problem out happy end.
